  • NetTrekker, the leading educational search tool for K-12 schools, brings digital resources into the classroom in a safe, relevant and engaging way, making it faster and easier to provide a more personalized and productive learning experience for every student. (See Mrs. McCarter for your username and password starting November 1st)

  • Student Friendly search engines can also be found on portaportal
  • BIA Library OPAC (This is where you look up books in BIA library)
  • Mrs. McCarter's PortaPortal Bookmarking web site (guest access: mrsmccarter)

Tips & Information
for the iPortal Mobile Lab
  • Do you want to checkout the lab? If so, then e-mail Mrs. McCarter, Librarian, to be sure you scheduled on the google calendar (to your right). 
  • You will need to pick it up from the A/V room.  Mrs. McCarter has the official key to the A/V room--no one else has one in the building. 
  • 24 laptops are on the cart *There are more, but that is all that the actual cart holds at this time.
  • Microsoft products are now installed. It is possible that you will still find versions of OPEN OFFICE please delete this from the computer desktop. Please Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel for anything with students. 
  • Use Mozilla FireFox for browsing the Internet—it is the preferred way to surf the web at BIA. 
  • The laptops do not print at this time.  Students should use a flash drive to save work. 
  • Students are NOT allowed on e-mail at anytime at BIA, this is an HCDE rule for our students.
